VocaRead is designed with privacy in mind. All text-to-speech processing, voice synthesis, and audio generation happen directly on your device. Your documents are never uploaded to external servers for processing.

• Document storage: All imported PDF and ePub files are stored locally on your device.
• Audio processing: Text-to-speech conversion is performed using on-device neural networks.
• Listening data: Your reading progress, bookmarks, and settings are stored locally on your device.

Data We Collect

VocaRead collects minimal data necessary to provide you with the best experience:

• App preferences: Language, voice selection, and audio settings (stored locally).
• Reading progress: Your position in each document, bookmarks, and notes (stored locally).

No Tracking, No Profiling

We do not track your reading habits, analyze your content, or build profiles based on your documents. Your privacy is fundamental to our approach.

Third-Party Services

VocaRead may integrate with third-party services only when you explicitly choose to use them:

• Google Drive: Only when you choose to import documents from Google Drive. Your authorization is required, and we only access the files you select.
• App Store / Google Play: Only for in-app purchases and subscription management. No personal data is shared beyond what's necessary for payment processing.

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device until you choose to delete it. When you uninstall VocaRead:

• All documents are deleted from your device.
• All app data, settings, and reading progress are removed.
• No backup is created unless you explicitly use device backup features.

Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Delete any time: You can delete documents, reading progress, and app data at any time through the app settings.
• Export: You can export your documents and reading data from the app.
• No account required: Use VocaRead without creating an account. Your data stays on your device.
• Opt-in only: Any data sharing requires your explicit, opt-in consent.

Children's Privacy

VocaRead does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally and requires no account creation, children can use the app safely with parental guidance.
